I apoligize if this has been asked before, but I can't find it searching. I am currently a PADI Divemaster/Master Diver and would like to start divemastering for a shop that is strictly SSI. Can I do so, or do I need a DiveCon card, and what would be required to get one? Thanks!

Dive Control Specialist
Crossover Standards

1. Intent: The Divemaster & Dive Control Specialist
Crossover Standards provide an effective way for
trained diving leaders to qualify as SSI Divemaster or
Dive Control Specialists.
2. Content: The knowledge factors and skills to be
covered in the course are provided in the Dive
Guide, Science of Diving and Dive Control Specialist
Instructor Manuals and Dive Guide, Science of Diving
and Dive Control Specialist materials.
3. Prerequisites for the Dive Control Specialist Crossover
course are:
• Be an active diving leader with a scuba training
organization and have had no ethics action taken
or currently pending with any other scuba training
organization.
— OR —
• If the candidate has not been active with a scuba
training organization, the candidate is required to
provide proof of non-renewal, which states that no
ethics actions have been taken or are pending.
In addition, the candidate is to:
• Have a current medical examination for scuba
diving not older than 1 year signed by a licensed
medical practitioner.
• Provide own scuba equipment of leadership quality.
• Complete a watermanship evaluation.
• Have logged at least 60 open water scuba dives.
• Be certified at least a Dive Leader / Dive Master or
equivalent for the crossover to the SSI Divemaster
level.
• Be certified at least an Assistant Instructor or
equivalent for the crossover to the SSI Dive Control
Specialist level.
• Have logged experience in Navigation, Night
Diving, Deep Diving and Search and Recovery.
• Have completed a Stress and Rescue Diver course
or equivalent.
4. Requirements for an Dive Control Specialist
certification via crossover are:
• Provide proof of current training in CPR.
• Provide proof of current training in first aid.
• Be affiliated with a current SSI Dive Center.
• Provide proof of being competent in the emergency
administration of oxygen. This shall include
knowledge of the medical principles involved and
practical use of emergency oxygen
5. Course Material: Each Crossover Candidate is required
to maintain his/her own current SSI training materials.
6 Training: All General Training Standards apply to the
Divemaster and Dive Control Specialist Crossover
course. These Standards should be reviewed before
conducting the course to verify all requirements are
met.
7. Duration: The recommended course hours for each
the Divemaster and the Dive Control Specialist
Crossover course are 10 to 15.
8. Exams: Dive Master or Dive Control Specialist
Crossover candidates must complete the Dive Guide
and Science of Diving or Dive Control Specialist Study
Guide questions and take the final exam to complete
the crossover program.
