  • Create a new blank document in the resolution you want for your copyright (e.g. 400 x 600 @ 72 dpi), then create a new blank layer.
  • Type in your copyright text on the blank layer.
  • Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to select the text.
  • Choose Define Brush Preset from the Edit menu to create your custom brush.
When you want to use the brush, it will show up at the bottom of your list of brushes.

I use the following steps:

  • Create a new empty layer:
  • Select your custom brush
    - and make sure you have the default black/white colours:
    copyright03.gif
  • Click on the new layer using the copyright brush where you want the copyright to appear
Next under the Filter/Stylize menu select Emboss with settings of Angle = 135, Height = 2, Amount =100.

Then on the copyright layer set the Blending Mode to Hard Light and set the opacity to 60%:
If this does not work to create the copyright symbol hold down the alt key and type 0169. this should create the copyright symbol.
