Suggestion Countdown timer

For years there was a countdown timer feature we used here on SB, but it disappeared a couple years back I believe. I know a couple folks had a work around, for a while after that, but I see no one using that feature at all any longer, and no search I have done turned up an answer or a current work around.

Is there any way at all to add a countdown timer to signature lines?

Nothing earth shaking, just a fun feature that I miss having available.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I too remember the countdown clock.

Unfortunately...

The short answer is, "No, it's not going to happen"

The short explanation (as non-technical as possible) is this:

It requires a .js extension for it to work.

a) It probably wouldn't work across all browsers
b) The signature line doesn't allow for .js or .html extensions other than the "BB Code"
c) It would be a big security vulnerability

So... I'm sorry to say, there will not be a countdown clock in signature lines.

I figured the answer would be no, but I had to ask.

Countdown timers were a very nice touch on a site dedicated to diving, as often we are just counting down the days till our next adventure.
