What my instructor told me is that you need to finish your deco first using your gas hence why you give the long hose. It’s breathable. After you are done your deco you can pass the person your deco tank to speed up his

Yes that is correct.

After the situation stabilizes and you receive your deco reg back, you finish your deco and pass off the deco regulator to the oog diver and recover your long hose reg. It is the immediate action that is important.
