Went for a long weekend to Coz. Sept. 7-11. Got in 8 dives with Aldora.

This was my 4th time to Coz. and the best diving so far.

The reef had a little more sand on it, but animal life was everywhere. I am always amazed how everything from fish to plants to coral is bigger in Coz compared to the other areas in the Caribbean I've dove.

Some of the diving highlights were:

2 night dives came up with octopus everywhere, I counted 12. Lobster and crabs on the prowl. Southern rays skimming the sand.

Mini schools (6-12) of baby reef sharks, 3'-4' on Maracaibo and Punta Sur.

Splendid toadfish feeding.

A few turtles on the deep dives, and a few eagle rays in the sand flats.

In and out of the swim-thrus all dive long on Santa Rosa wall.

2 kissing fish and a pair of squid right at the end of our last dive.

Dive Sites included:

Las Palmas
Devil's Throat
San Francisco
Maracaibo
Tormentos
Cedral
Punta Sur Cathedral
Santa Rosa Wall

I think a big reason I enjoyed the diving so much was the fact I was using nitrox in a 120 tank (except on Maracibo). I've dove 120's before, but nitrox allowed us to stay down longer in the "good" stuff. Can't complain about 80 minute plus dives.

Up top was also nice with crowds down and only 1 or 2 cruise ships in port.

:D
