I have a stupid question...are Americans allowed to go into Cuba now. And has anyone taken a dive trip there?

Americans can go to Cuba legally with the correct US government authorization for non-profit, educational, and other limited reasons such as international conferences. You can also take the risk and travel to Cuba through Canada or other countries like Honduras. Canadian are free to travel to Cuba and it is a great snow bird destination. Diving is not bad but the dive operations are not always top quality given the trade restrictions. A Cuban 3-star resort is probably 2-stars elsewhere, but the people are friendly, beaches nice. I know some Americans who have traveled to Cuba via Canada and they don't spend any US $ or have their passports stamped.
