Well Id say in general everywhere you go in the country there is a hand in your face for a tip! Id be walking down the street and someone would say "your shoe is untied" and Id say: thanks! and they would reply "one dollar!?", of course it was with a smile on the face so all you could do is shrug it off and go on with your day, but after a while Id say that the constant buggering is finally what drove me off from an otherwise very intruiging place. My experience may have been atypical, but I do feel that the isolation of Maria La Gorda was soooooo nice after being hounded everywhere else, no buggers, hustlers or jineteras there, just pristine reef and no sense of time!
