Anyone have any info about metal detecting (SCUBA or top side) in Curacao? Some bureaucrats will issue a flat NO even though it is allowed so knowing the proper authority to ask helps. May be going there and wanted to at least take my hand held to snorkel the resort beach. That's presuming I can fit it in with all the dive gear...

I do not know the legalities of metal detecting in Curacao. Over the last 10 years I have metal detected there many times. Mostly in the Mambo beach area but also out west. I have never had anyone say I couldn’t. I have never detected on land, only underwater. The dive shops I use saw me with my machine and didn’t warn me of any issues.
I’m going back this December and also in February and I’ll be searching for treasures so try to leave a couple for me.
Good luck and have fun
