The Maldives may not be locking down but flights are getting cancelled and LOBs are also cancelling because no one is wanting to fly at this time or go out on a LOB. Also, the boat I was on last year had a lot of German and Swiss divers and I understand that they would not be allowed in at this time. That would have left 6 divers instead of 20 on that particular boat and they can't be expected to operate under those conditions. My travel agent is cancelling trips he had booked for people into May at their request.

I sure hope to get back there someday.

Also at the press conference, Mabrook revealed that all arrivals, not just Maldivians, from the United States of America will be quarantined for a 14-day period, with arrivals from all regions of the globe to be placed under home-quarantine upon arrival in Maldives.
 
By the discretionary powers vested in the Minister of Health by Section 33 of the 7/2012 Public Health Act the Minister has declared a State of Public Health Emergency for a period of 30 days from 12th March 2020.

No passengers originating from, transiting to or with a travel history of said country/province to be permitted into the Maldives. Maldivians and spouses of Maldivians who are foreign nationals will be allowed in but may be subject to quarantine measures.

1. Velana Airport (MLE) is closed every day from 16:00 till 01:00.
2. All visas on arrival are suspended.
3. Passengers traveling as tourists and airline crew who have been in Bangladesh, China (People's Rep.), Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Spain, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom or in North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang Provinces in Korea (Rep.), Ile-de-France and Grand Est (regions of France) and Bavaria, North Rhine Westphalia and Baden-Wuerttemberg (regions of Germany) in the past 14 days are not allowed to enter the Maldives.
- This does not apply to nationals of Maldives and their spouses.
4. All passengers traveling to the Maldives for a purpose other than tourism will be quarantined for 14 days at a place designated by the Government.
5. A completed "Health Declaration Card" and an "Immigration Arrival Card" must be presented upon arrival.

It's only an intial draft but that does not look like relaxed holidays to me...
