Thanks a bunch for the info. Being new to diving I have only used the low end stuff (rentals) so, I have only you guys and your experience to base my buying desicion.

Dacor is not Crap.


These days it's rebranded Mares but its always been fine equipment. I have been using Dacor without problems since 1984.

Servicing problems only arise if you buy secondhand kit from the era before Mares bought Dacor, because all the service kits were discontinued when Mares took over.

This left quite a few people with a bad taste in their mouth.

If you're concerned about servicing ask Dacor for a list of their agents.

I have an Eagle DPD Pro which I love - but it may not be the reg for you. The best thing is to try as many regs as you can before making a decision.
