A few brief questions regarding data for @Shearwater:
  • What kind of privacy policy will be put in place around the user's data?
  • How can data be imported/exported from Shearwater Cloud?
  • What steps is Shearwater taking to ensure that the data remains secure?

Shearwater takes privacy seriously, and our privacy policy can be found on our homepage. https://www.shearwater.com/privacy-policy/ When you sign up for Shearwater Cloud, we provide our terms of service, and a cloud registration to the Shearwater database hosted by Amazon Web Services. Amazon is highly secure. Your personal data is not used directly by Shearwater nor visible to any other party. We may use depersonalized data in future to improve our products and the safety of diving.

Shearwater Cloud is accessed by a local app running on iPhone, Android, Windows or Mac. To import your data to the cloud, your dive computer is paired via Bluetooth and the dive data is downloaded to your local app. You then add additional information to your dive before syncing your local app with the cloud database.

Exporting of one or multiple records will be supported on the Windows and Mac versions of Shearwater Cloud in an upcoming release.

Are you perhaps thinking of integrating with something like Subsurface dive-log?
