Scuba Sensations will be taking it to the lake on the following Saturdays:
August 13
September 10
September 24
Join Divemaster Joe on one or more of these dates for two dives on some spectacular wrecks off of Chicago’s shores. Dive sites include the Buccaneer, Chicago’s newest dive site, the Straights of the Mackinac, the Wells Burt, the Tacoma, and many more.

The Straights is a 204′ car ferry that was intentionally sunk in 2003 and offers something for every diver. Sitting upright in 82 feet of water with her main deck just over 45′ down, the “Straits” has become Chicago’s premier dive site.

The Buccaneer is 98 feet long and was built in 1925 as in ice breaker. Now it rests upright about 10 miles off the Chicago coast. It was intentionally sank in June 2010 and sits in 70 feet of water (to the sand).

The Wells Burt sits in only 40 feet of water; this three masted schooner was built in 1873. Though she sank in 1883, she is considered by many to be one of the best shipwrecks in Illinois waters.

Sunk in 1929, the Tacoma, a 72 foot wooden tug, also sits upright at about 35 feet to the sand. Its large propeller offers great opportunities for photo enthusiasts . . . and large propeller enthusiasts

We will be diving with Capt. Jim Gentile of Windy City Diving off his 34′ Catamaran, the R/V Aquatica. It is a very comfortable boat and Capt. Jim does an excellent job making sure you are comfortable and taken care of.
