Sorry to be political here but this ticked me off today. Rumor has it that the parcel of land at Alhambra has sold. This is one of our popular beach diving sites. Please write to the Venice City Council if so inclined Mayor & City Council | Venice, FL. This should not happen to a public street, don’t care how rich you are. See the No Parking signs in next photo. They go around this entire parcel of land and across the street from it. ATTACH=full]586646[/ATTACH]

Thumbs up: Response from Public works this date:

Good Afternoon Ms. Murdock –

After some additional investigatory work with the help of the Police Department, it was determined that these signs were installed during the beach closure process back in March, as a temporary measure to discourage beach access. Public Works staff has just removed the two “No Parking” Signs from Alhambra Rd. There is another “No Parking” sign on Castile which will need to remain in place, as it prevents vehicles from parking too close to the Stop Sign.

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention and I hope you have a good week.

James R. Clinch, PE, CFM

Director of Public Works and Asset Management

So.. we can park on Alhambra now to dive?

That’s great news, but I believe the sign on Castle that will remain has arrows pointing in both directions. Could you ask them to replace it with a “no parking here to corner sign”?
