Site Location: Manasota Key
Water Temp: 68

Wind direction and strength: offshore, increasing throughout morning
Surf: 1ft. to 2ft.
Presence of drift algae: heavy

Attempted a fossil shore dive from Manasota Key. Vis was 2 ft. near shore but progressively worsened the further out we went. It was my 12 year old daughter's first salt water dive, I called it after 20 minutes when the vis was near zero. The water was much warmer than expected. No teeth or evidence of fossil material, however, we didn't get out very far. If the weather improves, may try again later.
