Venice Beach 3-21-11 Morning. First time diving there. Gulf calm, Sunny, 66 degrees at 17 feet, no current it speak of, viz depending on where you are, 3 to 10 feet. Found some small teeth. The big stone blocks they put in beond the swimming area 3-4 years ago have much marine growth on them. Impressive to me. Lots of fish. Nice dive.

Did two dives around Alhambra today.... KAYAK diving...

First and second dive about the same:
Winds: Relatively calm... estimate 5-10 knots
Swells: calm in morning, picking up to about 1 ft by 1pm
Viz: Very good in my view... probably averaged 10 ft (some spots dropped to 4, but hit 12+ in one area!)

Did shore dive with 1000 psi left at end of second dive... near blocks of Alhambra, viz was poor... 2-4 ft.

See photos soon... found my FIRST 5 INCHER!!!!!

April 2nd 9:30 AM Suncoast Reef Rovers and divers from FL Underwater Sports did our annual Venice Pier cleanup. VIz was really bad...one diver said with his compass to his mask it was still blurry, lol! Pulled up lots of rope, fishing line, fishing pole, and a chair. Still a few crap traps out there buried in the sand...ahhh, maybe next time!

went out sat... 0' or 0" of viz... absolutely no viz... aborted dive....:depressed: try again later in the week... next week end looks good...
