i am replacing the lens on my diverite mr-11 hid head (wasn't watching the lens while around my bench vise.. DOH!!)

do i grease the o-rings or not?

the first o-ring rests on the inside surface of the lens and compresses against the lens from the water pressure. the other is outside the lens and holds the lens against the interior o-ring but not with much force.

will silicone grease burn or mess things up from the heat?

thanks

i might as well talk to myself if you don't mind...

well i lightly greased the rings
in a pool (10 ft) no leak and i could see the interior ring sealing against the lens by the ring/silicone "layer"

i guess if it doesn't leak there it should only seal tighter at depth.
