Maybe it will eat the lionfish.

We need to mass post this! It is not safe to be diving for lobsters this year! Great Whites everywhere and eating divers.

We shot video of one in the Tortugas 3 years ago, and I saw one on the surface last year. They aren't that uncommon here.

10-12 miles East of the Ft. Pierce inlet...

Ft. Pierce Free Dive Open, at approx. 0645 we had a close encounter with a great white in 130 ft of water, approx. 10-12 miles east of Ft. Pierce inlet. One diver , Eros, was in the water untangling himself from his float line when this 12-14 ft. beast showed up. It circled the boat for 20-30 minutes before we decided to leave and dive closer inshore.

So... there are big sharks swimming in the Gulf Stream?? Who would have thunk it.

Cap't Frank, I was on your Dry Tortugas boat trip on Memorial Day weekend: I don't remember anything about great whites in any of the dive briefings!!! I might have teamed up with a much slower and out-out-of-shape dive buddy had I thought that there was the possibility of a great white in the waters we were diving. You don't have to outrun the shark, only your dive buddy!! :)
