Much of Big Sur is steep cliff side, so access to shore can be quite harrowing. There are a few places which offer direct access but I haven't found any which allow overnight camping.
Kirk Creek campground is right on the beach south of Burns. There are spaces available for RVs as well as tents. There is also a kelp forest right offshore.

The campground I was looking at is Kirk Creek Campground. It looks like it has decent beach access.

Do I foresee a scubaboard shore diving / camping weekend event this summer at Kirk Creek? :eyebrow:

If the wind will die down it sounds like a good trip to explore some new coastline.

where would the nearest scuba shop be?.....I only have two tanks each and would want to fill and do mutiple dives for multiple days after that long of a drive.....
