I'll be diving in the Onna-son area in Okinawa this Golden Week. Can anyone recommend some cheap accommodations/camping grounds? I do have a tent, but no car.

Not familiar with any hostels guest houses in Onna, there are plenty in Chatan- Hamby Resort or Churahama are both good and inexpensive. There are plenty of beached to camp on in Onna but they have no facilities. Many of the dive services up that way run their own hostel for divers. If you are looking at a guest house you will need to book now for Golden Week many are already full. Also many dive shops are already fully booked for the week or at least some of the days so make your reservations early.
next time you are in Okinawa, let me know. I live near Onna-son and have room to put up a couple people. I will be flying to Okierabu, Kagoshima soon too.
