Diving the Comal River in New Braunfels on December 29th and/or 30th

Oh going through the tube chute @ Prince Solmes Park in full dive gear w/o a tube is loads of fun! Pretty interesting when you come out of it and can stay under in the "washing machine" too. The rest of the river, though, was pretty lackluster for me. Spent most of my time just floating on my back because the visibility beneath the surface wasn't wonderful. I did rescue an iPhone at the last exit, though. And got plenty of Scuba Steve comments along the way.

My favorite Comal dive story is skimming along the bottom when a tuber above me dropped his beer can before opening it (I guess leaning over to the cooler tube). I grabbed the beer and lifted it back out of the water next to him. The reaction of him and his friends was hilarious.

Of course, I've also had a tuber fall of her tube and step right on my face - the only time I've actually had my mask knocked off (around my head).
