Sharks do get cancer - and more regularly than people believe - I have seen sharks with tumors myself. It is peoples belief that somehow sharks don't get sick or get cancer that lends support to using things like gill rakers as medicinal products. Apart from that pretty spot on - although I would hope that most of this isn't surprising for divers who use scubaboard!
