Do you guys know if anyone else uses that radial o-ring seal?

All the manifolds that I have seen so far, thermo, dive rite seem to use the face seal. The ease with which the valve knobs turn seems to dependent on the pressure of the tank way less then the radial. One of my thermos turns very hard until the pressure drops to about 2500. The halcyons seems to be stable in that regard.
