Hi:

Can someone kindly let me know if I can use a Ikelite DS51 with an ikelite housing using the Ikelite sync cords that do not have a blue band? I realize that the blue band IDs the cord as digital compatible. What will be the gain in purchasing the synch cord with the blue band (4103.51).

Appreciate the time.

Thank you

I believe the blue banded cords would be required for any TTL system to work. My understanding is if you want to shoot 100% manual then the other sync cords would work.

Maybe someone else will confirm or deny my statement

The blue band digital cords use the fifth wire to supply power to the TTL circuit in Ikelite digital housings. If it is not a digital housing, you can use a 4103 cord.(no blue band older cord)
