Do I need to buy an adaptor to use this port? If I do, can I install it or do I have to have the local steal your dollar shop do it?

The 5th port kit gives you an extra 3/8th port so unless you have a 1/2" hose connection you don't need an adaptor.
The kit itself is just a redesigned turret retaining bolt/balancing chamber. It is simply a matter of unscrewing the old one and putting the new one in.
