How donyou get the DX-2G to memorize your settings? I set my camera up to be at ISO100, f8 and 1/1000 as recommended on a site it was reading. Then I went Register it unde "MY1." As soon as I left the menu to another setting it reverted to 1/800. Then when I set my "MY2" settings and registered it, it overwrite my "MY1"

    Any help would be appreciated.

Finally got a great lengthy email from the guys at bluewaterphoto.com. They have come through for me several times. Can't recommend their customer service enough!

Bottom line is it won't save f stops, etc. It will save ISO, Macro or not etc. So I have one preset that's got the type of settings I need for MACRO and one set for wide angle. I then can quickly (relatively speaking) adjust the f stop and 1/125 - 1/1000, etc. as needed.

Now I just have to learn which setting to use to stop burning out my images...

I'm late to the thread, but if you are having overexposure problems with an external strobe, try dialing down the flash power with the camera's Flash Exposure Compensation setting. I run my DX-2G at about -0.7 to -1.0 with the YS-01 strobe.

(The big, tempting exposure dial on the strobe seems to do nothing at all when you are in TTL mode.)

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I did something like that on my last dive and it worked much better. I'll focus on that to see if that's actually what made the difference.

Same for me!! I thought I could lower the flash output in TTL by the Dial but I tried and did not succeed. I wonder why since they specify this function in the instructions...

The manual states that while shooting in DSTTL strobe power may be lowered but not raised. I couldn't ever get it to change, but it doen't really need it. Exposure is generally spot on (at least in macro).

anyone have any pics taken with the DX-2G? I am considering getting one, what is the general feedback in terms of ease of use and how much you have to change the settings? I am currently shooting with a canon and ikelite housing and having difficulty at shallow depths, too much light to shoot with strobe, not enough to shoot without it and difficult to change settings, DX-2G looks great but wanted to get some feedback before investing in it.

These were all taken with the DX-2G and YS-01 strobe.

The camera is pretty easy to use. The only control that I needed to use was Flash Exposure Comp, which controls the overall strobe output power when in TTL mode. Most of the time, TTL figured out a good exposure though.

I am pleased with the camera though if I was buying today I would investigate other options simply because some neat new cameras have become available.

When i had my DX-2G I shot in manual mode only. My settings were usually 5.7 @ 125, macro and ttl. Click on my sig line to see pics.

Good point Ron... I used pretty much the same settings. Besides flash power I'd vary shutter speed to make the background more or less blue.
