Bringing my older dx 3000 on a trip as a back up.
It has a built in white piece of plastic like a diffuser in the housing, however I reread the book and it talked about a "Flash Mask". The sync cord plugs into top of housing.
Is the a flashmask? I am using it along with a YS-90 DX strobe.
Anyone with this type of camera Please help

I don't believe you need a flashmask since the housing has a connector for the fiber optic cable to the strobe. The mask would be used for housing that doesn't have a connector for the fiber optic cable and/or doesn't block the strobe. Without blocking the strobe, you will get backscatter. The diffuser that flips up to cover the strobe should be fine and will eliminate backscatter.

Bill
