It is a good thing for a diver to know a lot about their ears and how the pressure changes of diving change things.
To learn a bunch in a short time, go to;

"The Diver's Ear - Under Pressure"
Scuba diving and snorkeling can be fun ways to explore the depths - especially if you can clear your ears as the pressure changes. In this video lecture Dr. Edmond Kay discusses techniques for preventing middle ear barotrauma. Learn what to do to equalize pressure in your ears, teach others proper techniques and learn the safest way to prevent "ear squeeze". This talk was recorded live in September, 2000 and is now available for Internet viewing over the University's video portal (broadband only).

In addition to understanding your ears better it covers lots of ways to equalize.

Yep... Aurodry is also good stuff, you can get it at any pharmacy. Use it after your dive to prevent small water pockets from forming in your ear canal.

You prolly have bruised your ear, if you continue diving on it, you might end up with an inflammation. Just take it easy for a few days. Eardrops might help too, to soothe it.
