Probably a dumb question, but here goes: I just purchased a barely used Diving Concepts Dry Suit that fits me perfectly. However it needs a new neck seal. I'm sure the new seal will have to be trimmed for size as I've had to trim every neck seal I've ever replaced. Is stretching the seal over a tank an acceptable way to fine tune the fit after trimming to get close? Or is that just a good way to shorten it's life? Trimming seals stresses me out lol.

I have stretched latex seals over a tank several times. The problem can be the hydro stamps which can leave sharp burrs that need to be covered with tape. A new tank that has not been re-hydroed is best. Yes it does work.
