Hi!

Is there anyone out there with EDS or similar condition that dives? I have EDS and DDD with a 4 level cervical fusion and love diving. My doctors think my crazy but reluctantly sign my waivers because I swear to them it's the only time I'm not in ANY sort of pain.

I love the challenge and motivation to excercise before a trip. :)

Are the doctors concerned about the EDS or the DDD?

I have two spinal fusions and don't consider them a contraindication to diving.

I don't have EDS but have treated patients with it. There are many potential manifestations of EDS beyond joint hypermobility and lax skin. One would have to know much more about your particular situation to know whether it's a concern for diving. It may or may not be. If I had EDS I would want a good work up searching for potential issues and consult a dive physician familiar with it.
