ELF attachment

I recently passed the required PADI Lion Fish Hunter Distinctive Specialty Course to obtain the only legal method of harvesting Lion Fish in the Marine Park that surrounds Bonaire.

I've used pole spears in the past and of course they're superior but not allowed so I'm stuck with what I have. What I'm looking for is a clever method to clip the ELF off on a D ring but nothing in the stock design lends itself to that. Any good ideas someone might have would be appreciated.

I think mine came with a rubber ring and plastic clip.

If you don't have that then some finger spool line, maybe secured with a zip tie or c-clamp(that will rust) tied tightly. At the other end a brass snap.

Those springs are super heavy and you don't need to pull back very hard at all. Lionfish have very soft skin so no need to blast them.
