From the DAN article:

"There was an insignificant increase in bubble size (one to four percent) in both saline and silicone gel implants, depending on the depth and duration of the dive. The least volume change occurred in the saline-filled implant, because nitrogen is less soluble in saline than silicone.

The silicone-saline-filled type showed the greatest volume change. Bubble formation in implants led to a small volume increase, which is not likely to damage the implants or surrounding tissue. If gas bubbles do form in the implant, they resolve over time."

I was completely surprised that the implants would actually absorb nitrogen at all. I had assumed they would not. Still apparently not anything to really worry about based on the DAN article.

Ok, back to the comedy session :D

Also, think about reverse pressure. If they are combat pilots or flying in near-space environments or astronauts, seems to me the balloon expands rather than contracts via reverse pressure underwater, wouldn't this topic be of more interest if it were disussing the subject matter at altitiude with less psi rather than below sea level?

Well, yeah!

Based on the DAN article, I guess some nitrogen absorption by the silicone implants is possible at depth.... now, if a flight were to follow a multi-dive trip... and rapid cabin depressurization occurred....... the nitrogen bubbles would rapidly expand in the silicon.... it could be: "BOOBZILLA, THE IMPLANT THAT ATE TOKYO!" :D

Sorry, its really late.

Best wishes.

Rapid cabin decompression at 39000 feet? Implants would be the least of your worries.

I like boobs and I like diving.

I'm a leg man myself.

I know a few lady go divers who dive with breast implants. I've never seen them explode.
