If somebody called me a flaming scallop, I think I'd deck him.

The animal appeared to emit a bluish flash along the inner mantle...we were told to look for this action once we found it.

I'm not an expert, but; all "flaming" scallops I've seen were accompanied by shrimp, onions and the occasional mushroom. All slathered with butter, and a cold beer on the side.

Thanks shoredivr and drl for confirming. I'm betting it was the same site where we saw it as I do recall the name, Pixie Pinnacle. I guess I should get better at logging my dives! :D
