My dive club went for a dive today in the local quarry. On the second dive one of my buddies lost signal on his left tank. After the dive it was found that the battery compartment to the transducer (oceanic style) was flooded (freshwater). Any insight Or experience with resolving this issue? Hopefully the battery compartment is sealed from the board, but it’s hard to tell. Im hesitant to recommend disassembling the entire unit, because those side screws look really easy to strip.

Dry it out and see if it still works. If so, replace the o-ring. Otherwise send it to Oceanic. If it is toast they will offer a replacement for ~$100.

check the opv plug is still there. there was another thread where that was lost and it flooded from the hole.

Quick follow up. The transducer was completely disassembled. There was evidence of moisture in the electronics compartment. The OPV plug was noted to be intact so the assumption was made that the water came in through the battery cover. The device was completely dried, reassembled and a new oring installed in the cover. Seems to be functioning correctly now.
