    As per this thread Flooded
my Sport HD I flooded today during a 36 mts depth dive in Palancar Cozumel.
It seems that only a few drops of sea water came in through the power on-off or start-stop buttons. Now it's death. Nothing happens when I press the on button or connecting the USB cable to charge it.
I have this camera since 2012 and it has far more than 50 dives, but never so deep. I have been taking good care of it, lubbing the main o'ring, pouring a few drops of liquid silicone in the pass through buttons.
I though that it would give me more years of filming. I'm really dissapointed.
I live in Argentina, but I bought it in the USA. I don't know if I can service it in Argentina or the cost of the repair needed.

Sorry for your lost and I would guess that since it is a 2012 model then the Mfg. will not fix it. If you are talking about the Intova Sport HD I, I have one for sale pretty cheap. I bought the HD II and simply do not use the HD I any more. Your SD care might still work.

Thanks for your offer, but if this is the case, I will go with the GoPro.

Is this part of the care instructions? If I recall correctly, the main o-ring should be cleaned but not lubed. I don't recall liquid silicone mentioned either.

Either way, it's dead. You can move to GoPro, or perhaps one of the clones. Good luck!

After the camera dried, now I can charge the battery via the USB cable and now the display goes on. Also I can film while the camera is connected to the USB cable.
The power on/off button miniswitch that is soldered to the main printed circuit has came off. I don't know if the salty water corroded the switch or the very problem was that in the very beginning. I'm getting the tools to solder it back to see if I can revive the camera.

You might want to contact Intova. My buddy has had a couple of cameras replaced outright, or deeply discounted, by them.

I have to contact the local representative of INTOVA, however I expect nothing from them, as I bought the camera in USA not locally. Anyway, as this is the INTOVA subforum, no one from INTOVA entered to this conversation. I was expecting than someone from INTOVA would add a comment, but no luck.

I've contacted INTOVA tech support directly via e-mail. Good news will come.

I had small issue with one of "compact" torches (bought in B&H and I live in Poland) and the customer service did much more than I expected: they sent me the part I needed from Hawaii to Poland at no cost.
I can recommend their gear, flooding unfortunately can happen to every brand :(

BTW: now I use 17500 Li-Ion to power the torch, instead of 3xAAA (R03) non-rechargeable - they also were helpful consulting this change. It's my primary backup in every dive, it's small and have a nice small spot.
My primary camera is ContourROAM, its nice feature is being watertight to 1m of depth. It saved me once, when I accidentally opened the diving case while I was floating on a surface getting ready for a dive. I just gave the camera to the people on boat and nothing wrong happened.
