After 4 years of living on the West Texas high plains (if you call that living) I am coming back to the Sunshine State. I lived down in KW for 13 years, but now I will be living in Fort Myers. So what kind of diving is near by? I know the Mohahk is off shore (I have walked its decks several times when it was a dockside museum in KW). Also any dive shops in the area?

Thanks

Fort Myers.....
Way west is superior spearfishing from Marco to Tampa.
Teeth and fossils in Venice shallow, usually poor viz.
But.....
You are two hours from FTL and Pompano.
Key Largo/Jupiter/Boynton-Delray is a little further.
Endless opportunities.

Chug
Waiting for the fraidy cat of sharks
fresh water hole divers to show up.

I am in Ft Myers and we do most of our diving in Key Largo. Delay is about 2.5 hours from us to the boat, and Jupiter is closer to 3 because there is no straight shot.
Dive shops are Capt Pete's, Scubavice, and Dean's. I can speak from experience that Pete's and Scubavice are good operations. Never dealt with Dean's but hear good things about them.

Shark toth dives in Venice are very cool but the viz is hit or miss, and the hit is not that great
