Fossil Diving near Ft. Myers FL

I will be in Ft. Myers for a week. I planned on driving to Venice to dive for megs. Are there charters closer to the Ft. Myers area and do they find fossils like in Venice? I want to dive a lot, but I guess it is a couple of hours drive from Ft. Myers Beach.

You can find fossils in almost any river or stream, but if you want to dive for them, Venice is the closest spot of which I'm aware.
