AGA is what we use, you can also do your own maintenance on them if you take there course. As far as training, I would recommend using Dive Rescue International.

I agree with Gary, start with your local PSD organization(s).

AGA masks for most of our type of work fit the bill and OTS makes great communication gear. Some teams with surface supply utilize helmets but those are the higher tier teams.

As for training I have experienced both Dive Rescue International and Lifeguard Systems.

Our dept. bought AGA's with comms. Everyone on the team likes them better than the EXO's that we had.

We use the Ocean Reef masks. Much more comfortable, easier to maintain, and better visibility.

The volunteer team I just joined uses Ocean Reef also. From what I've gleaned off the search function about using a wet hood, either cut the hood back to let the mask seal or find a good latex lined hood. What do you guys use for hoods?

I use a standard Neoprene (drysuit) hood (no tuck in). Get one with a small opening and the mask can seal right over it. On lots of dives my hair even stays dry.
