The low temp/low volt thing may have been one of my issues as well. I sometimes forget that some of our brethren only dive the tropical paradises, rather than the full gamut of water temps from 37 F to 90 F (often on the same dive!). Pair that with the fact that many of my dives are in 40 F water and 30 F air temp and equipment gets a more thorough test.
