To whom may be interested:

The following links are in reference to a GUE class where George Irvine (of the WKPP) gives a lecture regarding decompression. I’m posting this only for your own interest and am not interested in arguing for or against anything he may have said. If you have any disagreements with anything he said, take it up with him (let me know if you need his address).

Anyway, this is, IMO, one of his greatest narratives of how he views decompression and some of the physiology involved. I haven’t actually listened to every word of it yet, but most of what I heard was fabulous and quite relevant to most everyone’s technical dives. Most of this is rehash of things he has advocated for years, and I have most of it in my notes in bits and pieces.
However, this format makes it a bit easier to put in context. As can be expected, there is bit of casual foul language, but for the most part it’s pretty clean and an extremely informative lecture (at least in knowing where he’s coming from regarding deco). Unfortunately, the tape recorder was turned off before he was through, so that kinda sucks.

Enjoy!

Mike

Just download it direct from the site. I have Real Player to make it work.

EDIT: While I'm at it, here a link to the Irvine's DIR 1&3 videos.

Thanks Yooper,

I have been trying to listen to that file with Rio-port and it is super fast forward ultra compressed chipmunk version....

No matter how many times I listened to the lecture I just couldn't get it all...

Of course each session only lasted a few seconds...

Slowing it down to normal speed by using Real Player should up my comprehension considerable....

:D
