What can I add to anything that's already been said about diving off northeastern Vancouver Island? There's a rich, endless bounty of colorful life, an underwater wilderness that calls us back again and again. And yes, it takes a little grit to make 3 dives a day in 46 degree water. But I hope these images will illustrate why Phil and I love diving there so much.

What is that round item top right of the speckled sanddab (with leaches ? ... I struggle to get it large enough on my phone to make out the leaches)?

The inset circle has an enlargement of the leech. I only got one shot of the fish and didn't see the leeches until the photo was on my computer. Apparently, it's uncommon to find them on sanddabs.
