This sounds strange to me. I would've expected at least one thermocline in a quarry that deep in a temperate climate.

If Gray Quarry is low 70's even at depth, that'd really be a nice feature. Is the 65 foot depth a small section, or is much of the quarry deep?

Richard.

The owner placed an aerator in the quarry.
This keeps the water turned over and temps on the surface are same on bottom.
There is a shelf down to 30-35' with ample room to keep shallow but then it drops to 60-65' or so. Makes for a nice wall dive.
