I did remember that I was writing down a table in my wetnotes when I was doing cave 2. At some point I did write more than 30 minutes deco. I did ask what the deco limit was. There was no deco limit for cave 2. There is also no deco limit on a cave 2 card. In a cave I’m even allowed to do more than 30 minutes of deco....

Seems strange to me Bart, agreed that cave 2 has no deco rules as such. But I always thought that the deco limit of our GUE cave certification is ruled by our tech certification. IE if you are C2 and T1 your decolimit is 30 minutes, and 1 deco gas (the tech 1 limit).

Anyway the guiding thought for me has always been experience being more important than the cert level as such... and as stated as well... there is no scuba police ;-)

Post Script: yes I've done multi stage dives exceeding 30 minutes of deco plenty of times when I was C2/T1, so I'm as guilty as anybody exceeding these limits.

If you have to “ask” if you can do the dive because of your certifications then you aren’t ready, regardless of what the cards say.
