I am 5’4” and have tried both standard and short plates. I’m one of those people that are smack in the middle. Both plates seem to work fine for me. Since you’re taller than me, I think a standard would be better for you, unless you’re particularly narrow at the shoulders.

40lb Halcyon wing is for singles. You have to get a wider wing for doubles.

I have the Halcyon. Love it. But if you’re only using it for tropical, 40lb wing is overkill. It’s not overkill for my cold water diving - drysuit, sfeel tanks, lots of lead.

I’m 5’5” and I have no issues at all with the standard Halcyon plate.

Halcyon wings do not have cam band slots. You must use a STA with them.

This is incorrect. The older Halcyon Pioneer as well as the current Traveler Pro both have cam band slots. The Traveler Pro is available as a wing only and is same price as the Eclipse without slots. Just special order.
