So just for Marie13 , Illinois has passed some Catfish Finishing Freedoms!

According to Foxnews:

"Illinois passed dozens of other laws, including changes so that starting Jan. 1 it will no longer be illegal to catch catfish using a pitchfork, speargun or bow and arrow."

Has anyone ever seen someone hunt catfish with a pitchfork?

:yeahbaby::rofl3:

Unfortunately, neither Mermet Springs nor Haigh Quarry allow fishing or any other form of fish finishing!

Give it time and there will be a youtube video of someone using a pitchfork.

I wasted about an hour on YouTube searching for a video of somone, anyone, hunting catfish with a pitchfork, but it looks like this is an unexploited opportunity!
Step 1) get a neutrally buoyant pitchfork...

A gig used for flounder looks sort of like a pitchfork.

What's your point? :D :D :D

Actually a legitimate question. A fish gig often has a barbed point(s) while a pitchfork does not.

Maybe the pitchfork is for stab and release? :)

Just the opposite of what a sleazy salesman does. Pitch first. Fork second.
