....have you reached out to the manufacturer and seen if a custom length could be produced for you?

please forgive a realtive green horn here what are the advantages of the miflex hoses ofer traditional ones:confused:

Compared to the standard hoses, MiFlex are very light weight and superflexible. So flexible you can tie them in knots without damaging them or causing cracks. They don't tug on your regulator. Also makes packing a reg very easy.

Just my 2psi.

Just curious - what is your planned routing of a 6 ft hose?

A six footer is great for a "NON DIR DIVER" who likes to use the long hose configuration.

Five feet just feels a little too short.

I used a 6' hose before switching (also non-dir, just goes under my right armpit). I switched to a 5' miflex, and it works, perhaps because of the extra flexibility, but it is just a tad snugger than I'd really prefer; in the sense that I have to keep the part that comes across my chest and over the left shoulder pulled tight to prevent pull on the mouthpiece. You could make the case that that's a good thing in that I'm required to keep everything trimmed up, but I'd prefer just a tad more slack.

I'm also rather short, although that's mostly in the legs; as far as the hose is concerned I'm a men's medium. I'd expect a guy that wears a men's large or XL would find a 5' hose really snug.

I'd have to think about whether I'd buy a 6' if it became available, given I already have a Miflex hose and it works, but I think I'd prefer 6'.

Peter_C, thanks, but I'd be afraid the knot would be an entanglement hazard. :cool2:
