Hi Paula,

Are you familiar with diving in the Azores? I am not. But I thought it would be interesting to check out.

Heathrow, Lisbon, to San Miguel is 160 pounds RT on TAP Air Portugal. The sea temp averages 18 to 24c. You could use your dry suit this time of year.

Too bad you don't have a little more money, you could join us on Little Cayman with the Scubaboard Surge https://www.scubaboard.com/community/posts/8551966/like

Plan ahead and join the AKR Invasion on Roatan next June. Runnscuba needs a roomy: Female roommate? She is a very nice lady; if I was not able to go on a trip, I think my wife would like having her as a roommate.

Just a thought.

good luck,
markm

I'm happy to take the drysuit! What's it like on the boat in the colder months?
It's warm. You need to get out of your drysuit quickly as it gets warm very quickly. On deck, you just need to get out of the wind and the sun's quite warm.

Definitely a Red Sea liveaboard. Am doing one this month and taking my drysuit :D

Weather is fine but not quite warm enough for sunbathing. A liveaboard will help with the evenings as by the time you’ve had dinner and done a night dive it’s pretty much time for bed. The early morning starts are quite something so late nights are not recommended.

OOoooh I haven't thought about Azores. Let me go and look.
Little Cayman does sound nice, but the money money money!
Thank you!

Sounds perfect. I liked that about the one i did on the great barrier reef. Bed by 9 and up at 6!
And there's people to be friends with too!

I think i'll need to get a couple of dives in with the drysuit as i've only just done my course and the suit flooded on that one!
But Liveaboard is looking like a winner.

it normally takes 15-20 dives to get comfortable in a drysuit. See if you can join a local club that has pool nights and/or weekend trips. Wraysbury is nearby and perfect for practicing buoyancy as it’s quite shallow.
