Hi SoCal folks,

What's the deal with extremely expensive dive tours in Catalina? In checking prices for a 2-tank dive I see $200! That's crazy expensive, more that Hawaii prices.

Are there any meet ups for shore diving at Catalina?

Pete

Yes, and everyone talks about how expensive Hawai'i is  If you go from the island Catalina Divers Supply has a two-tank dive for $107 (their prices on line may not be accurate) but, of course, you have to get there so that's another $75 or so for the Ferry (check Groupon before buying tickets). So far all I did was rent a tank from them but they seem to have good reviews.

I was at Casino Point last Sunday and there were hundreds of "divers" there so I would think you wouldn't have too much trouble finding someone to dive with.

Welcome (from Riverside)!

That's right, and in Hawaii I can dive with Manta Rays for less. Also for me I'd add the price of a room in Catalina so I can take it slow. Compare to a 2-tank dive up in Monterey near where live for $85!

Anyway, glad to hear of lots of folks at Casino Point. I'll be in Irvine next week and just may have to get over to Catalina.
