Hello all,

I am JW from Hong Kong, have been diving for around 3 years now. I am newbie here but have been follows this forum for a while.

I spend majority of my diving in Hong Kong, and sometimes I will go to the Philippines for some diving such as PG Island. I am planning to go Subic Bay this year for some wreck diving.

Hope to see some of you in the water soon!

Cheers,
JW

Welcome to the board! Expect to see some reviews of diving in Hong Kong and wherever you go. I never thought of Hong Kong as a diving locale!

One of our all time favorite cities -- Hong Kong

It has been several years since I was in Hong Kong.
One of the great pioneer families of and pioneer shops of Hong Kong diving was Buns.
There were three brothers, Bunny , Billy and Kitty

I knew them but with the passage of time I have lost contact ..
Are they in the big reef in the sky ?
Is their shop still in operation ?
Do you still have the very strong HK divers association ?

welcome

Sam

A lot of people don’t realise that until they dive in Sai Kung, where we have a lot of hard and soft coral reef in Hong Kong. Give us a try next time when you in Hong Kong. :)

Hi Sam,

The Buns diving institute really is one of the long established dive shop in Hong Kong by the Liu brothers in the 50’s. (Way out of my age!! Lol)

Their shop is in Wanchai and you can look for their website: www.bunnsdivers.com

We do have the Hong Kong Diver association but people tend to stick with their instructor or agencies like SDI, PADI, SSI, NAUI, and so on...

Cheers,
JW

I may be wrong but Bunns has changed hands a few times.
It used to be the largest shop in HK but now it is not the case anymore...
I am still diving a few of their old steel 10L tanks though...
