HELP!!!!!! Can I only use a Poseidon octopus with a Poseidon setup?

Ice in my throat but air in my lungs!!!!

Those little finicky Poseidon "quirks" are why I got my wife an Apeks- I probably would have gotten an Apeks for myself but I didn't know about them at the time.
