New to diving looking to buy my first reg. Heard some good things about the Atomic Aquatics Z1 anybody have any good or bad things to say. Also looking at the SP MK16/R380.

These are both good choices. I have the R380, and I think it is a great match with the MK16. For the sort of cold water diving I do, I prefer the balanced diaphragm design of the MK16.
